1) Do you like it when a book series you're into releases a collection of short stories?

Or

2) Do you prefer unconnected collections of random stories with perhaps only genre linking them?

3) Which do you think is better:
A) A couple longer stories ie 3-5
B) A bunch of shorter stories ie 10-15
C) Some sort of mixture

I'm mulling something over and any opinions I can gather are appreciated.

Since a number of US newspapers have refused to republish the latest Doonesbury cartoon strip which highlights the way Republicans are attempting to undermine a woman's right to choose, I feel it's important to make sure the message still gets across.

The shaming room awaits.

If you are going to do this, you need to do it before March 1st. It has been said that users will not be able to do anything about this after that date.

With reference to Google's policy changes and how everything you do with your Google account will be tied together into their super-cauldron of information, you will probably want to clear your Google Web History out - if you turned that feature on - before month's end. After that, you won't be able to clear it, and everything you search for will be connected with your account.

To check settings and/or clear out your Web History:

1. Go to Google. If you aren't signed in already, do so.
2. In the top right-hand corner you'll find your email address or name, perhaps an icon if you have a Plus account, and a little downward facing arrow. Click on the arrow and a menu will pop up.
3. Click to 'Account Settings'. This will take you to a page called 'Accounts'. (If you have a Plus account, you might go via a Plus sign-in page.)
4. Scroll down to a section called 'Services'. Here you'll find an option called 'View, enable, or disable web history', which has a link next to it. Click on the link.
5. If you never turned web history on, you'll get a page asking if you want to turn this service on. Just click 'No Thanks' and all is good. If you did turn it on, you should have a list of your searches. At the top there is a button that says 'Remove All History'. Click this and follow the instructions which will remove all items from your Web History and pause the feature so nothing else will be added in future.

Also, you can completely remove Web History as a service from your account by clicking THIS LINK, checking the tick-box and confirming you want to remove Web History. To be safe, it is probably best to do the steps above first to remove any history that might have already been collected.

Big thanks to [info]angearia and [info]blood for the pretty sparkles I've got added to my profile. :) Thank you.

My poor love is on-call today which essentially means he could potentially be working for 24 hours. Tomorrow I leave on a long, smelly bus to the coast to visit family, doctors and lawyers so I won't get to see him for a few days *sniff*. Dog seems happy with the return of the sun to our small town and despite a lack of furniture our little home seems more homey everyday.

Love and hugs, f!list.

So when I found out a boo-boo on iTunes released the newest MLP:FiM episode several days early I jumped on it with nervous anticipation. The last few episodes have varied between meh to lame to offensive.

Then we got this:

A female character who was perfectly happy being single and hanging with her friends and students on the pony version of Valentine's Day.

Said female character and popular male character are given a love poison that goes grossly wrong BUT upon being cured the young girls who poisoned them admit it's best to choose who to give your heart to and not let anyone else push you into a relationship.

The last shot of the episode is the female and male character going off to hang out - as friends.

You know what? Good job! I would honestly like to save this episode and share it with my own kids. That was a pretty cool thing Hasbro and Studio B has done. It doesn't make up for the fail but it's a step once again in the right direction.

ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Essential ACTA Resources

  • Read more about ACTA here: ACTA Fact Sheet
  • Read the authentic version of the ACTA text as of 15 April 2011, as finalized by participating countries here: ACTA Finalized Text
  • Follow the history of the treaty’s formation here: ACTA history
  • Read letters from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden wherein he challenges the constitutionality of ACTA: Letter 1 | Letter 2 | Read the Administration’s Response to Wyden’s First Letter here: Response
  • Watch a short informative video on ACTA: ACTA Video
  • Watch a lulzy video on ACTA: Lulzy Video

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

Children of the Corn :: Ruth&Malachai
I've gotten really bad at updating this thing. Ever since I moved my fic elsewhere I feel like I have nothing to post here.

I'm living in a rural area now and they really don't kid when they say nothing much happens. It's gotten insanely cold lately with -40 windchill. Burrr! I'm trapped in the house it's so cold with a dog that can't be walked who is going a wee bit stircrazy.

Hopefully it all lets up soon. At least I've written a bunch of fanfics in my down time.
